rose is a rose is a rose aka @roseproject24 began as breakfast table chat between Belinda and three friends on New Years Day 2024. Reminiscing about long ago times when we had all finished studying, and the ways we found to communicate creatively before the internet. We sent handmade postcards, wrote illustrated letters - one friend collected detritus from his day and photocopied it as a kind of journal...

And so from that table chat the idea was formed for each of those friends to exchange a postcard of a red rose with Belinda. Then four became six, became twelve , became twenty four and now we have over 150 artist red rose postcards in a shoe box which travel the world with pop up shows and, when possible, larger selected works and soirees of poetry, performance, perfume and music

Almost from the very start three important artist collaborators each came forward to offer more than their postcard and so a team has formed, Belinda, Caroline, Mary and Fiona. Together we are @roseproject24

Belinda exchanges postcards, Caroline curates, Mary creates floral interventions, Fiona designs
